In a world where everyone has a blog, a channel, a public voice, it’s difficult for anyone with a shred of self-doubt to feel like their voice is worth listening to at all. The flipside to that is there is this constant deluge of information, art, and “content” invading our lives at all times so maybe my analysis on something I care deeply about is worth reading in my small corner of the world.
After years of going back and forth on this idea and questioning my legitimacy in the music industry conversation I have decided to give it a shot. I’m bringing a bachelor’s degree in music, a deep love for the artform, and a desire to make connections with artists to the conversation. My only hope is to make a worthwhile impact here, or at least have some fun trying.
Every day I try to expand my understanding and connection to specifically the DIY and independent sector of the music industry. What you will find primarily in this blog are my thoughts on the music and artists of the DIY world as well as reviews specifically through the lens of a queer woman. I may throw in some retrospectives on albums I love and other analysis on the general topic, but I’m taking this one step at a time.
Let’s see what this music degree and twenty-eight years of music listening experience can do.
If you’re here, if you’re reading this, thank you.
